Corporate Social Responsibility is an integral part of our business and we are committed to continually doing better. Within our sourcing program we are focused on Ethical Sourcing and have various controls and initiatives in place. Pacific Brands applies the same standards to all sourcing markets.
We understand that consumers, customers, employees, shareholders and non-government organisations want to understand their ethical impact when purchasing and supplying our brands.
At Pacific Brands our supply chain extends across fourteen countries. In addition, the Company owns four factories, three of which are located in Australia and one in Indonesia.
Our suppliers are important to our business and we expect them to meet our specific standards in relation to human rights, environmental and ethical business practices. All supplier sourcing is reviewed, approved and managed through our dedicated supply chain teams. We note that the level of influence that Pacific Brands exerts over each supplier varies, depending on our significance as a customer to their business. Therefore we often collaborate with other brands of the same factory to achieve improved outcomes.
In addition to our supply chain teams we have dedicated audit and compliance groups based in Australia and China who lead our Ethical Sourcing program. The Company upholds the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code across all sourcing markets and is Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) certified in its Indonesian facility. This facility has been accredited since 2002 and continues to provide a benchmark in terms of supply chain management and worker welfare conditions.
Pacific Brands is also a signatory to the Bangladesh Accord and is committed to driving safe working conditions in the country, notwithstanding that the Company does not currently source from Bangladesh.
We are committed to sharing what we learn and how we improve as we continue on our Ethical Sourcing journey.
